Clear communication sounds simple in theory — yet in practice, it’s often one of the hardest things to get right. This evening, we’ll explore what gets in the way of saying what we mean, how confidence shapes communication, and how to express ourselves without creating unnecessary conflict. Warm-up question: Why is honest communication so difficult? Questions we’ll unwrap on the night: 1\. How do we express needs without sounding confrontational? 2\. How does our level of self\-confidence affect how honestly we communicate? 3\. When is avoiding conflict actually self\-abandonment? This is a non-moderated discussion. We provide the questions and the space — then it’s up to you to unwrap the theme. There’s a philosopher in all of us — usually hiding behind the day’s to-do list. We’ll be meeting at The Beacon Pub, Salthill. The event is free, and we’d appreciate you ordering a drink at the bar to support the venue, who generously reserve a room for our group.

The Music of Carol King and Linda Ronstadt performed by 80s icons Flo McSweeney & Leslie Dowdall. After decades of friendship, Irish eighties rock icons Leslie Dowdall and Flo McSweeney are finally sharing the stage together for the very first time with their brand-new show, Natural Women. Backed by an all-star band this uplifting and soulful performance pays homage to two of music’s greatest female voices — Linda Ronstadt and Carole King. Audiences can expect to hear unforgettable classics such as “Up on the Roof,” “You’re No Good,” “I Feel the Earth Move,” and “It’s Too Late.” “This show is all about women celebrating women,” says Flo. “We’re not a tribute act — no wigs will be harmed! It’s really about Leslie and me finally performing together after more than 30 years of friendship. It’s about still being here, still doing what we love, and feeling ageless every time we step on stage.”

Galway Musical Society returns to stage with PIPPIN, a dazzling musical that weaves together circus, magic and all that makes musical theatre so special! This show explores Pippin’s lifelong search to find the right path; all while being nudged by a not-so-trustworthy troupe of circus performers who may or may not have their own idea for his wicked ‘grand finale’. With music by Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Godspell, The Prince of Egypt, Pocahontas) and originally directed and choreographed by Bob Fosse (Chicago, Sweet Charity, Cabaret), this production showcases what makes musical theatre so extraordinary: songs that soar and big dances full of energy and character! PIPPIN contains scenes including death, murder, blood and sexual content as well as comedic depictions of severed body parts and physical violence. Sexual innuendos are made throughout the show. There is a suicide metaphor at the end of the performance. This production incorporates the use of a black light. This show is not recommended for anyone under age 13.
