Tue, Jun 23 · 6:30 PM
An Examined Life - A discussion group to exchange ideas and opinions related to psychology, science and philosophy. The format is that we select a theme and pick a book related to that theme to discuss. The link to the book will be posted and also a talk/podcast related to the book should you not have time to read the full book before the meetup. Pre-reading is not mandatory, however, everyone will get more out of the session if you read the book or listen to the short talk. The aim is to meet in Wetherspoons. Usually we are at a long table near the front window or, if not, a long table downstairs. Ask around and I'm sure you'll find the group! ## Details The title of the event is a paradox! Read in silence and then discuss with like-minded folks! :-) 📝 How does this work? Since weather is bright this week, let’s meet in Stephen’s green opposite to James Joyce statue. Here is the location: https://maps.app.goo.gl/DX2AX2xYNTkU88Vq7?g_st=ic. If you’re unable to find us, join the group to find us. https://chat.whatsapp.com/DeUdwaon3nUKM7AQNpzfgu?mode=gi_t. Later at 8, we will head to Bartley’s! We will meet in the Bartley's Restaurant area from 7:00 PM to 8:15 PM for silent reading and followed up by discussion. During silent reading, you're expected to remain silent and read. Please bring your headphones and refrain from the discussion during the first one hour in the area. 👥 Socialising After an hour, at 8:15 PM, we'll discuss and socialize about the book you're reading. We highly encourage you to move between tables and strike up conversations with fellow book lovers. These discussions about literature and reading recommendations are often the highlight of the event! Feel free to join at any point during the event. The event is indoors, hopefully, we can continue the tradition of the silent reading in the winter! 📌 Helpful Tips and Notes Bring headphones to block out surrounding noise I will post a comment on the event page when I arrive to indicate where we're seated, so everyone can find us If you prefer to skip the silent reading, you can join directly at the bar at 8:15 PM ⚠️Something Happened? If something unpleasant happened to you, it may happen to others. It may be small but don't hesitate to reach out to me. Looking forward to meeting you all 😊

DUBLIN MEDICAL INFORMATION LECTURE A Path to a Healthy Body and Soul through the Teaching of Bruno Gröning “THERE IS NO INCURABLE” (Bruno Gröning) As part of a medical lecture series by the Bruno Gröning Circle of Friends, a medical lecture will take place in: DUBLIN on Thursday, 25th June 2026 at 7pm Marino Institute of Education, The Maple Room, Griffith Avenue, Grace Park, Dublin D09 R232 Presenter: Dr Karim El Souessi, MD Admission is free. All those interested and especially anyone searching for help and healing is invited. Ancient civilizations knew of the existence of a higher power that can help and heal. Bruno Groening (1906–1959) called this power “Heilstrom” or healing force. Among other things, he taught how one can absorb this natural healing power. Healings, even of so-called incurable diseases, are occurring today as they did during that time and are demonstrated by medically documented healing reports. The healing power can be experienced during the lecture. All involved in the lectures are volunteers and hold the lectures in their spare time. The Bruno Gröning Circle of Friends is a not-for-profit organisation. 📚 There are always books that live within ourselves. Some books are living rent-free in the house. We need space for new books and to let go of some old ones. In reality, space to accumulate books in Dublin is only a dream. You may be a tsundoku (book hoarder). And want to let go a few books :-) This will also provide an opportunity to refresh our literary tastes, book review from the participants, and declutter our bookshelves. ✨ So let's exchange books and discuss them together! 💬 📋 Guidelines Please bring your used or new books (plural, please!) to swap. Engage in discussions with other participants about the books. If you read e-books, I understand your situation; however, you are welcome to join us and take home a few books for your reading. 📝 How does this work? Bring the books you'd like to swap and place them on the book swap table. Then pick the book you like and continue the conversations with the participants. What happens if no one picks my book? You can take the book back with you or leave it in the table. As an organizer, I will take the book and donate to the charity bookshop or place in the little library like one in Pearse Street Dart Station. Feel free to walk around and explore what other participants have brought. When you spot something that interests you, grab it before someone else does! Trust me—there's always friendly competition for the best reads. Don't forget to bring a bag to carry your new books home! We highly encourage you to move between tables and strike up conversations with fellow book lovers. These discussions about literature and reading recommendations are often the highlight of the event! ⚠️Something Happened? If something unpleasant happened to you, it may happen to others. It may be small but don't hesitate to reach out to me. 🔍 How to find us? When I reach the venue, I'll leave a comment in the meetup where the group is seated. Normally, the booking is in my name, so you can ask the staff for the group. If you're unable to find us, leave a comment in the meetup page. I'll be able to guide you. As an organizer, I'm always looking for feedback about the event and suggestions for new events, so feel free to suggest ideas to me. 💡 I hope to see you all soon! 😊
